Half and Half

Okay, since I'll be gone tomorrow until around 9:40 or later, I'll try and make this blog a long one to compensate
How about another schedule day?

Pre A Period:
Woke up... felt TERRIBLE
Showered... which made me feel better I guess
Got dressed, took forever, I was moving slow this morning, haha
Skipped breakfast cause I was out of time... which sucked majorly later on
Ran out the door with my tenor and dad

A Period:
We had to wait for Nishi to come around, we had a sub for Butterfield, who was Jessica's mom, which was probably weird for her
Both Wind and Concert rehearsed in the band room, how you may ask?
Well, Concert went first(We sound TERRIBLE. I'm so sick of being in concert band...)
Then Wind went after we were done(They sounded amazing, as usual)
Got out and went on my way to 1st period...

1st period:
Talked heavily about trench warfare and tactics from WWI
What a bloody mess that was, my God
I can't help but hurt inside learning about the millions of young men who died for nothing

2nd Period:
Had a sub... she paid no attention to us while we made sexual jokes, mosquito tones, and lots of inappropriate... things in class, it was terrible, I laughed so hard

3rd Period:
Geometry, which was on task, for once, haha
We get a lot done, but Mr. Loew really likes talking about the latest news, which is cool, cause that's why we have that period, to talk about the world a little

4th Period:
German... Well, we do a lot in german
corrected homework
partnerarbeit
oh, und ein neues lied haben wir gelernt

Lunch:
Boring, I tried to get "dick in a box" out of my head, it was terrible
Sat in a corner and listened to my iPod

5th Period:
Band,
Rehearsed the set once more for the festival tomorrow
I got praised for politely asking to use the restroom
which was cool?
I don't know, I think Nishi was just messing with me

6th Period:
Bio
Took a practice test for tomorrow's test, which I will... miss.... darnit
Means I have to take it Monday after school, oh well

Track:
Well, I searched for Daniel's wallet, seeing as he lost it somewhere
Didn't get changed, just wore my jeans down to grab my shot and discs, listened to the meeting, ran up to the band room and chilled out with Mabbey, Aaron, and Rhiannon talking about accents

Jazz B:
Sight-read a new tune... improv solo for me...
I suck at improv
Give me written music, PLEASE
Then spent time on 88 Basie street
Sectional with Anthony, and I learned that one fingering that's been bugging me

Home:
My sister got braces, hahaha, it really sucks for her
I HATED BRACES
Yeah
Listening to Muse, finished my homework
Dinner should be in a few



TOMORROW!
Okay, so this is how I think it'll work:

A-Rehearse, run over the schedule real quick
1-Notes on WWI
2-Popcorn reading again
3-Notes on Sine, Cosine, and Tangeants
4-Who knows?
Lunch-Getting changed into my tux, getting ready to leave
Chabot-Show up, perform, find Amador, and hang with them
I can't wait

Heated neck wrap bliss

OHMYGODITFEELSSOEFFINGGOOOOOOOOOODDDDD
I like heated pads, I might wear them to band review in the future
One on the neck, elbow, you know, warmth?
I need to layer up more for band
Especially later in the season when it's freezing

Right now...
Waiting for dinner, we're having chicken with fontina and basil
My sister gets braces on tomorrow, so when I went to the store today, made sure to grab corn on the cob
Seeing as for a year and a half she won't be able to eat it right off the cob
That wasn't fun, I know from experience

Track?
So, nexty-next saturday is the East Bay Invitational
And... I'm throwing Varsity as a Sophomore!
I'm so excited!
My captain says that if I can be hitting 105 by the third/fourth meet, he'll let me throw varsity so I can get my letter early
Which is good, cause my letterman will finally look like I do an actual SPORT, not just marching band
I mean...
I think Marching band is one of the toughest things you could choose as an activity
it's a LOT of work, time, and money
But track?
People have been seeing who can throw things farther, run faster, jump higher since the dawn of our kind
So if that's not a sport, I don't know what is.

We had insanity rain workouts today in track
lots of tedious, very painful stuff
extended lunges across the football field
frog jumps
bounding
grapevines...
core jump push ups
olympic push ups
all in the rain

I was so soaked, and my stuff went into the dryer as soon as I got home
I really should take a nap
but...
I can't stop surfing the interwebs

I have ridiculous wet hair
I look like one of those lego characters, with the clean-cut 50's look
My mom says I look older, but even she knows it didn't suit me

I really don't have anything to report, so I think I'm going to end this blog early, sorry to disappoint

Bored on a Monday Night

Oooh, that should be a title for a song or something

Anyways, that sums up this moment... right...... now.
yeah
And here I sit, I've beaten Assassin's Creed II
It was AMAZING
Very good story, exciting gameplay, fun side-quests, and plenty of killing corruption
Oh, and killing some bards, but oh well, they deserved it, annoying punks
I've just drawn two new character designs for Daniel
My clothes are all in the dryer...
My sweatpants aren't very warm...

Honestly though, with track and everything, most of this stuff is pointless in comparison
I just run through my day, deal with the same people, until 2:48, then I'm happy as can be!
It's hard to believe there's only a few months left, only some of which are track

I'm so sick of shot put, I really need to improve though

It's supposed to rain this week, which, despite the positives, is just annoying.
Rain means weight room...
Not as exciting as throwing

Uh, my little sister has her first colorguard competition of the season this Saturday, I'm really excited to go watch her
Haha, she's getting braces too this week
That'll be a hoot
I hated braces
But after I got them off...
I was the SEX. APPEAL.
Well, in band at least
Haha, I was such an annoying, cocky freshman
Looking back now, I would have punched myself in the face

Berkeley Meet

So... Today was the Berkeley All-comers meet, which was unusually packed for one of these.
Hammer started at 9, to which we were a bit late, but still were able to watch.
Next was shot put, which took 3 very long, large flights to complete
During shot put was Javelin, very cool to watch
After Javelin and shot, was disc
My dad was first flight, hitting in the 100's
I was first on the second flight....
I hit nothing, and I have a story to tell:

"Matt and the magical head case"
Once upon a time, there was a young man named Matthias Strand
Matthias was a young man going to the Kingdom of the Falcons high school
The Kingdom of Falcons(FHS) had a track team, of which Matthias was a member
Matthias specialized in the discus throw, learning from his father, the wizard Ronnius
One day, Matthias, his father, and Matthias' close friend Rosaline went to the faraway land of Berkelburg, to Calzenheimer castle, a vast kigdom of young men and women, all athletic
Matthias and co. entered in the Calzenheimer track tournament for the surrounding populace
Matthias, not aware, was cursed with a spell named *psychenoutus*
Psychenoutus was a spell cast on his parents before he was born by a witch jealous of Matthias' mother's red hair
After much exposure, Matthias' father found methods around this curse, but Matthias and Rosaline(Who, after being around Matthias so much, had the spell rub off on her) had forgotten how to block the spell
A long meet allowed the spell to take full effect, and Matthias and Rosaline lost terribly, despite Matthias' father's presence, his mother's magical charms, and sister's chants
But Matthias' father had used the meet to cast a protect charm, granting Matthias and Rosaline the ability to block the curse from then on.
Matthias, Ronnius, and Rosaline left that tournament prepared for the next battle with psychenoutus
The three went to the Nationalius ye olde great burger shoppe to eat sandwiches and drink iced vanilla and chocolate nectar.
The day ended with Matthias hugging his mother, who told Matthias he would do better next time
The end.

Noodles

Welll, here I sit, eating noodles after one of the longer track practices we've had in a while.
Just a type-typing away on my keyboard.
What to say....
Well, I should narrate my day I suppose, isn't that what blogs are for?
Okay...

Pre A Period:
I got up, quite groggy I might add, promptly at 6:05AM
I growled, then took my shower, decided I was too lazy to shave, and got dressed
For breakfast I had Cinnamon Toast Crunch.. I didn't add enough milk....
Rushed out the door with my dad and went to school
Of course, the band room was locked, so I kind of sat and ignored everyone until our sub got there...

A Period:
Okay. MP was locked, so we had to tail it around back in order to get in
Some Wind Ensemble players came in to relay Mr. Butterfield's message about scheduling
I ended up conducting us(quite poorly too)

1 Period:
We watched a lot of movies today....
This one was a documentary on the cause of WWI
A SANDWICH!
Yeah, weird I know, and it's stretching the truth a tiiiiny bit, but it was so cool

2 Period:
I graded two essays, one of horses(Okay?)
The other on Auschwitz(Kind of bad... it needed a LOT of work)

3 Period:
We did the usual notes and talking about random things like towers, hotels, and fish

4 Period:
Okay, so we took a quiz, checked notes, kind of didn't do much, very boring, Brett stashed Daniel's desk outside before class

Lunch:
Took lots of photos... LIKE AN ASSASSIN! Or Batman. Yeah, Batman.
Danced with Shab as she stood on my feet so she could reach

5 Period:
Band again, rehearsed for a good 15 minutes, then cleaned the room... well... I cleaned a lot, which I think was a good thing, otherwise no one would have done any work

6 Period:
We watched GATTACA
which was AWESOME
Whenever I see Uma Thurman, I think Poison Ivy from Batman & Robin...
It's a pretty good movie, we get to finish it tomorrow

Track
Okay, hung out and beat each other up before, then ran, did hill sprints, then threw disc
Got two new girl throwers... I think there are more girls than guys now...
I was hucking it far.. UNDER CONTROL! YESSSS

Now:
And here we are. Finished the noodles as I typed, and now I'm still hungry...
I might eat some chocolate
Cause I can.

Weather!
It was sunny again! So sunny I wore shorts... which is weird... for me
Track was kind of hot, not bad, but enough to get everyone sweaty

Sports? Uh
Well, in the Field events(shot and disc) we've been doing our tuesday/thursday conditioning, throwing the rest of the week
The weekend practices are pretty good
I was able to do a successful full spin on Monday... it went pretty far, I was pleased with myself

Watching the Olympics, I love snowboarding....

The snowboard cross coarse is incredible man
